Dry Shade Gardens
A perfect solution for those 'hard to grow' areas where grass does not want to grow! These spaces burst with colors and textures in the spring, with a variety of greens over summer, and final show for fall with asters and goldenrod.
Having a diversity of native flowers for both shade and sun gardens means potential flowers from March - November!
A honeysuckle once dominated this woodland understory, now only a stump remains. The woodland phlox quickly re-established and offers valuable flowers for native pollinators in the spring.
A sea of woodland phlox now flourishes where invasives such as honeysuckle grew last year. The only remnant of its past is a brush pile breaking down and creating cover for wildlife.

Native prairies can serve as inspiration for our full sun gardens at home.
