There is no set agenda for Garden walk. Come as you are, stay curious, and enjoy the season.
Garden walk is hosted by Lindsey and her husband on their rural property just outside of Plymouth, IN. The property is medium sized, around 3.5 acre, and has been actively restored, redesigned and planted and over the past 3 years.
During that time, Lindsey and her husband have planted approximately 450 trees and shrubs following ongoing efforts to restore the woodland area (1.5 acres). They have created several distinct garden spaces around the home, including a front yard lawn conversion, shade gardens, and extensive vegetable gardens which integrate sustainable practices and native plants.
Each month, there will be a relaxed walk through the gardens. We encourage stopping frequently to observe insects, flowers, birds, and seasonal changes! This is a fluid time for questions about gardening with native plants, vegetable gardening, and gardening for wildlife.
Let us explore, learn, and enjoy being outside together!
This is an active, working farm. Lindsey and her husband are working on projects and gardens throughout the year, and it is common for projects to be mid-completion during the walk. You will see weeds waiting to be pulled, spaces in transition, young plantings on their way to maturity, and probably a full wheelbarrow waiting to go to the chickens....
We can provide some chairs, and participants are welcome to bring their own seating if standing for long periods is uncomfortable.
Garden Walks are intentionally relaxed and informal.
The monthly walks take place at a private residence. For privacy reasons, the address is not published on the website.
The full address will be shared after registration. Please respect the privacy of the family and only visit the property during scheduled program times.
If you are attending with a friend, carpooling is encouraged. On site parking will be guided so as to efficiently fit vehicles into the available space in the yard.
If you are coming from out of town and want to make the day of it, here are some of Lindsey’s favorite local places to eat, grab coffee, or shop.
